What is Color.io?
Color.io is a standalone raw image editor and look development tool that offers advanced color grading features for photographers, filmmakers, and artists of all skill levels. Color.io can be used to edit raw images and to create custom show looks via 3D LUTs, DCTLS and ACES LMTs. Color.io is enables you to shape color in a way that retains their natural aesthetic, even with significant edits. The color grading controls are designed to produce filmic tones that integrate deeply into your images, preventing them from appearing artificially altered. This user guide is designed to assist you in understanding and making the most of these features.

What this user guide covers
- Working with images: The app provides powerful RAW development features optimized for film emulation and color grading. Work in ultra-wide-gamut, log-encoded color spaces compatible with built-in ACES cinema color management, for high dynamic range grades.
- Film Emulation: Color.io include unique tools for synthesising analog film looks like Film Halation, which recreates the effect of bright light causing highlight flaring on analog film, a characteristic that can't be replicated through color grading alone.
- Batch editing: Easily grade hundreds of images at once and export in one go
- Create 3D LUTs and DCTLs: The Look-Up Table generator lets you create high fidelity show looks, ACES LMTs (look modification transforms) and custom film emulation LUTs, providing seamless integration into your existing photo and video editing workflows.
